Most "fun" class for PvE? Help me get back into Guild Wars!
I'm interested in going back and trying GW again...
I have a level 10ish E/Me and ALL he ever does is cast fireball (or whatever the spell is) over, and over, and over... What's the most "fun" combination of classes to play? (for PvE) |

Ranger!
They are so versatile that you'll never ever get bored of them. -Beast Mastery! Having a pet with you is great . -Traps. I like to catch those monsters. Monster catchers -Bow and Arrow. It's like shooting a gun. That's fun. -Running -Preperations -Interruption -Energy denier -Spirits that change the battlefield. They can do a lot. |

for pve i prefer either Warrior or Necro
love playing minion master and watching my "army of the dead" rip through a pve area like a knife through butter as for pvp (and i do believe pvp is what keeps you playing GW) : mesmer all the way, i'm any caster's nightmare, and loving it |

My personal favorite thing to do is to keep others from being effective. My favorite class...they can all do it well. I like to interupt, stack hexes/conditions (especially DOTs), spike dmg.
I found with my Me/E (which is very fun) I really didn't get into using the ele spells until a bit later on and then there are some great combos that can be used. I know that didn't really answer your question, but I hope it gives you some ideas... |

Necro. Using grenth's balance/dark pact/dark aura/signet of agony is an AMAZING combo, and hilarious to play.
You can also play as a MM, which is a fun gimmick for a while. |

My first character is a ranger and he's still my favorite but I do enjoy playing my necro and monk. My elementalist is just a mule right now lol.

necro warrior and monk are probably the best choice around...
due to that it is easy to get a party, while also being quite uniqe in play style comparing to other games. ele is VERY straight foward, quite boring sometimes; ranger can get tedious; mesemer is ok, but many put them at the bottom of the list in getting them (dam those bastards). |

The ''fun'' class that u are requesting totally base on your playing style.

Yeah it's hard to say what YOUR type of FUN is compared to MY TYPE of FUN.
But, Rangers are pretty fun to play the PVE game with. If you want surviveablity make a R/Mo. If you want some toys to play with make a Ranger/Necro with death magic and have more pets. Monk as a 2ndary to start out with to me is the best choice for all players. Why? Because you can change your 2ndary later on if you want to try another class and by that time your main class will be powerful enough you may can survive without having monk heals. Being as there are only 8 skill slots and usually 1 is always tied up with some form of rez and another with some form of running or slowing skill you really only have 6 skills to play with. Oh and another one of those is tied up to healing yourself. So, that brings it down to 5 and if you go with a Ranger, well there's 2 more slots if you want a pet, one for charming/having a pet and one for healing it also. So, that brings you down to 3 skills to have FUN with playing a ranger with a pet. hehe But, if you go with a Ranger/Necro like me well you don't need a charm to have death pets. So you get 1 skill back thus have 4 skills to have FUN with playing a Ranger. This is why I believe they need to add more skill slots. At least one permanently for rez sig and another permanently for one healing skill. Give us a full 8 combat skills I say. By the time you load your skill bar up with practically "required" skills you don't have but a handful left for FUN. |

It really depends on what you're looking for:
Warrior - mainly for soloing areas/missions/quests. If you like the challenge and have the patience to face all of your enemies alone, this by far is the class for you. If you're into wealth/item accumulation, this is also one of the best classes. Elementalist - to me is one of the most boring classes if you choose fire or air. Earth or water can be challenging as you learn to use these uncommon skills. I'd pass on this one, IMO. Ranger - by far the most diverse, which allows you the most options in how you play them. Rangers have a relatively tough time soloing things, and many of their facets (e.g. trapping) require a team to be patient, which 99% of teams can't do. A team of rangers, by far, is one of the most fun things you can do in the game, especially in the UW or the FoW. Necro - to me is the most fun class in the game as it comes to team play. From minion mastering to wells to hexes, the necro involves a ton of unusual play that can be challenging to learn and develop if you don't fall into one of the cookie cutter categories. I find that my necro changes his skills from mission to mission and from quest to quest based on the strategy and enemies he will face. Mesmer - by far the best class for PvP, and somewhat limited and underappreciated in PvE. To me, this is the class that is hardest to master, so if you're up for a challenge, this is the way to go. Monk - if you want to feel loved by every party you join, the monk is the way to go. You're always high in demand for team play, and you can always convert to a 55HP version for soloing. Great for wealth accumulation as well. This class can get tedious after a while though, especially if you're in the mood to hack and slash or disable your enemy. |
